NKU Guidelines for Posting - Content

Nicole Kidman United is a fan board. It's main purpose is to post news of Nicole,and in particular Nicole's films. The board does not take a "everyone is entitled to their opinion and can post it no matter what" approach. More it is "everyone is entitled to their opinion but may express it on the board only if it is within the board's guidelines of decency and respect for others". By others it means not only other members, but Nicole, obviously, anyone known to Nicole, and any other celebrity as celebrities are regarded as people too. If you have an opinion contrary to the guidelines then keep that to yourself or post it elsewhere.

Please do not start threads reporting something horrible said about Nicole. We occassionally tackle an issue in the tabloids..eg Jude and Nicole...but more along the lines of posting the denials and giving support to Nicole, rather than the actual horrid taboid stuff. And it is kept all on the one thread as well and usually belongs in the Believe It Or Not forum. Sometimes it is rather borderline to work out whether to post or not. If in doubt you can always e-mail foxy@nicolekidmanunited.com and check. If in doubt it usually means your senses are telling you it is not a good idea to post!

Nothing about Nicole's miscarraige at all. That is not something we have a right to discuss.

And anything with the word 'hate' in it, or posts which lead others to use the word...are probably a sign the thread will get the thumbs down!!

This is not a Tom or Penny or Katie bashing site. If you have opinions on these people keep it to private e-mails. Penny and Katie need not be mentioned at all on this site. Taking a lead from Nicole who is concerned for her children among other things, Tom is mentioned when Nicole mentions him when she talks about their marriage, or when Tom is in a photo being posted. Please do not post photos of Penny or Katie with Tom, or Tom and Nicole's children in them.

This is not a political site, but a fan site of Nicole. So if you have a political statement to make please go to a political forum. It is lovely to be able to come here and get away from those issues. And politics and religion were always bad topics to bring up at dinner parties!

Defamatory posts or slurs against people here or anywhere are against ezboard rules. There are many rules to being an ezboard member which you will have seen when you joined up.They obviously apply as well.

Respect other members. If someone has an opinion which differs from yours, it is best just to let it go rather than get into a big argument. If you have an issue with a member on the forum, rather than dragging the issue out into the forums please speak to Foxy personally so we can help you and mediate if necessary! We just want a friendly place where people can feel happy.

No swearing in the forums! We have a lot of young members at NKU and swear words will not be appreciated. Please set an example for others. There is no need to call anyone names - be it a member or a celebrity - neither Nicole or any of us would appreciate name calling no matter who it is.

Mainly, just acting with decency and with the dignity that Nicole herself displays will win you lots of warm hearts.

NKU Guidelines for Posting - Linking to other sites

To other site Nicole site owners. Please do not put advertise your site on our board in posts or in your signature. You may put a link in your profile if you wish. PMs (Private messages) are usually answered quickly so use this quick and easy facility to check.  We do not advertise on other people's Nicole boards and expect the same respect in return. If you have something you think would interest our members, either post it as a member and for our site, or PM foxy about it. You will find this will work in your favour a lot better. Also, please do not target our members with requests, especially privtely. Some of our members may post a scan on our board especially to have it discussed on NKU and it is disappointing for them if they are asked privately behind the scenes for their scans to go somewhere else as well which then dissapates the views and discussion on their topic. They feel pressured and do not know what to say.  Feel free to ask foxy about it instead.We may work out a time delay if you are a site with a good standing with us. Thanks. . 

We do not link into other Nicole fan sites here, and if you are taking something from another fan site and you are not the owner of the site you need to ask permission from that site owner.

This rule applies especially to anything a person has done personally for their site...eg. SCANS or SCREEN CAPTURES or MONTAGES or TRANSCRIPTS or WALLPAPERS.

Ditto in reverse. A lot of what is posted here, particularly by Foxy, are personal scans. You cannot post those on other sites without Foxy's permission and credit must be given to www.nicolekidmanunited.com.

Where it is a photo freely found on the web, say on a site like celebrity-exchange.com, then it is not an issue, and we will simply load it onto NKU and may alter your link within a day or so to make sure we are not abusing the bandwidth of another site, or make thumbnails to it so it is only loaded a small number of times.

This is a grey area and often abused unintentionally by our members. We do understand how hard it is to know what is OK and what is not. Sometimes we may not notice or may overlook minor bending of the guidelines. However if one member consistently 'bends' the guidelines and/or another site owner complains, then the member can expect a message from NKU Administraton gently reminding them of the guidelines, and  requesting permission be obtained or credit given, and may have their post edited or disallowed depending on the circumstances.

Do not let the guidelines put you off posting photos altogether! If you make a mistake it is easily sorted out with our guidance and we love to have your contributions.
